We had so many great ideas from you all that we decided to re-work the entire site. The overhaul was completed and launched July 1, 2020. Below you'll find the changes we've made.

August 25, 2020

The Paid Indexers section has been expanded to include more information/details. There has been interest in the paid limits and questions as to if an Indexer has a forum or not.

So, this section has been expanded to include those items.

Many visitors here have expressed frustration in finding information on Indexers. The problem is the people that have the information are reluctant to share because they’re afraid if they do, they could lose Indexer access because of an Indexers rules against talking about the Indexer.

The other problem is a safe place where people can share information. Web forums and discord servers that contain Indexer information are hard to find. Reddit has a Usenet area and even an Indexer Invite area but you have to sift through a lot of posts to find good information.

I’ve just started a subreddit where people can discuss indexers without fear of retribution from Indexer owners. It’s called r/usenetindexerreviews. It won’t have general Usenet posts or requests/offers for Indexers. It’s only for reviews of Indexers.

If you’d like to help your fellow Usenet users, just create a throwaway Reddit account and then use that account to post your comments/experiences with Indexers. If you make sure you don’t post any personal information you can safely talk about indexers.

Sharing your experiences will help countless new users. I will post information as well but input from users like yourself can help immensely. The more users we get to share their experience the more information others will have when trying to decide if an Indexer is a right fit for them.

I hope you’ll visit this subreddit and share your experiences.

Welcome to the updated Nero's Black Book! We launched this site just a month ago and the response has been fantastic! So many of you have thanked us and expressed your pleasure with the site. We're happy beyond belief with the site's success.

Many of you have helped by providing updates and corrections. You've also suggested some changes and we're happy to announce that we heard you and many of those changes have been implemented in this overhaul. We don't want to stray too far from our mission of providing you with the most complete and accurate Indexer list available, but so many people have asked about various programs that we decided to include a Toolbox that contains some of the more widely used Usenet tools.

We hope you enjoy the changes we've made. Please let us know what you think and as always, feel free to let us know what we can to to improve.

Beginning today (July 1, 2020) any additions/changes to anything on the site will be listed at the top of this page. Be sure to check this page first whenever you drop by to see if an Indexer/Provider has been added or changed.

Thanks again!

Nero

Originally, we had all the Indexers listed in one table. We had some suggestions on ways to identify Forums versus standard Indexers, Free versus Paid indexers, English versus Non-English sites and so on.

In fact, there were so many great ideas that we decided on a new format. Now, the Indexer tab in the Navbar has a drop-down sub-menu that separates the Indexers into different categories.

This should make it easier to find what you're looking for as it allows you to quickly identify types of Indexers and reduces the lines in the tables.

We also made changes to the Updates tab to include a section on recent changes such as the latest overhaul. This is also where we will post news on any new Indexers or changes to the various lists. This will keep you from having to search the entire list to see what's new or different.

The Providers' section is back by popular demand. I'll do my best to keep it current. There are a few holes where I haven't been able to find the info so if you can help let me know.

We had some requests regarding programs that are frequently used in conjunction with Usenet (especially searching, downloading and file management/maintenance).

Until now, I have been directing people to Graybeard's Reference on Discord. Now, we have some of the information from that reference here and it's located under the Toolbox tab. If you can't find what you're looking for here, please check out Graybeard's Reference on Discord. Here's a link.

Graybeard's Reference is dedicated to providing links and reference material on Usenet/Torrent downloading, IPTV and Plex. it's not a regular Discord community where people gather to discuss things; it's simply a reference site. However, many people contribute to the reference and it's constantly growing.
